No time to hit the gym? These tops will conceal your mummy tummy.
The empire waisted top, also known as the baby doll, is my all-time favorite for covering the mummy tummy. Look for one that has a V-neck so that the attention is closer to your neck and face rather than your belly. For work in the office, wear a baby doll top with a hemline that stops above the hips. For a more casual look, try a long baby doll top paired with skinnies or straight legs.
The t-shirt blouse is a loose t-shirt made with a more delicate fabric (like silk or polyester) making it look more formal than a regular t-shirt. It will flow smoothly over your torso leaving enough space for your mummy tummy to be lightly covered. This top is versatile having the option to layer under a blazer or wear alone with jeans.
These tops are great for blending in your belly fat. Your rolls will simply camouflage with the extra layering of fabric in the shirt. The most flattering rouched tops add length to your torso, or you’ll look top heavy. Find one whose hemline is below the waist.
This mummy tummy top creates a slight ballooning effect around your belly giving it extra space. The length of this top should fall a couple inches from the base of your belly leaving ample space.
Kaftan tops are very sophisticated and depending on which fabric you choose, they are versatile with the ability to go from daytime professional to weekend casual. Their loose fit tends to be comfy. This is a good transitional piece for those of us that are used to being at home in PJ’s all day.
