Example Negative Thought: Your nose is too big.
Remember that many of our thoughts are influenced by our culture’s standards and other people’s ideas of an ideal image.
Tell your negative thought why it is wrong. List to yourself all the reasons why the negative thought is not true.
Example: Actually, my nose is not too big. If it were any smaller, it would be too small in proportion to my eyes, lips and the rest of my face. You cannot compare body features with other peoples because everyone’s body is unique. There is no ideal.
Replace the negative thought with the positive and declare it true.
Example: My nose is perfect for my face. It was designed perfectly to fit me and this is true.
Now that you have replaced the thought, solidify it by saying the true statement aloud or by writing it out. Doing both will make it more powerful.
