As the International Image Institute in Toronto, Canada describes it, this body is well proportioned. Meaning no one part of the body, hips, waist bust or shoulders is wider or more narrower in comparison to the rest of the body. I don’t mean anything judgemental by saying “standard” body shape. No judgement, but just the reality. Don’t get hung up on it. Cool?
Also we are talking about “shape,” not “weight.” The girl in the picture above has a standard shape even though she seems smaller in weight than the average North American. Remember this is body “shape.” If you’re not sure whether or not you are a standard body shape then go to our body shape calculator.
Okay, so we’re cool cool right? Good! Let’s get started!
The standard body type is fairly simple. Just wear everything fitted. Period. Not tight though, just tailored to the body.
You don’t have to worry about adding or taking away anything. All you need to look for are just items that fit well to your body.
The only thing that you may have challenges with are spot problems, like a full abdomen, but there are solutions to dressing these areas.
If you are petite or under 5′ 4″ then follow these additional tips.
Simple. Nothing loose or baggy. Fitted and tailored.
Skinnies. Straight legged. Bootcuts. Pencil skirts. You can get away with pretty much anything.
